What is BifaCal D
This medicine contains a combination of Calcium, magnesium , zinc and Vitamin D3 which are nutrients known to help protect against Osteoporosis and promote optimum bone health for men & women of all ages.

Calcium
?The most important structural component of bones and teeth
?A key factor in the normal transmission of nerve impulses.
?Essential for the formation of fibrin, the fibrous protein that makes up the structure of blood clots.
Key player in the regulation of cellular metabolism and may regulate a variety of enzymatic processes that affect cell secretions, ciliary action, cell division and cell proliferation.

Magnesium
?Acts to maintain normal concentrations of calcium and phosphorus in plasma, mainly by facilitating calcium absorption from the small intestine and by enhancing the parathyroid hormone-mediated mobilization of calcium and phosphorus from bone.
?The active form of vitamin D increases the production of calcium-binding proteins in the lining of the small intestine.

Zinc
?It acts as a cofactor for enzymes that are involved in protein and nucleic acid synthesis.
?Required for proper calcium absorption, enhances the activity of Vitamin D.mobilization of calcium and phosphorus from bone.

Vitamin D
?Necessary for the normal development and maintenance of the immune system; helps to regulate the activity of cells involved in immune function.
●Functions as an antioxidant by being a cofactor of the enzyme superoxide dismutase which is involved in the removal of harmful free radicals.
●The active form of vitamin D increases the production of calcium-binding proteins in the lining of the small intestine.

What is the medicine used for?
A medicine is to help maintain optimum bone function and reduce the risk of osteoporosis later in life.

INDICATIONS:
●Rickets, osteomalacia, tetany & hypoparathyroidism.
●Bone fracture. ●Pregnancy and lactation.
●Osteoporosis. ●Senile osteoporosis.

DOSAGE:
One Softgel daily as a dietarysupplement can be increased up to two Softgels daily or as prescribed by the health care adviser

WHEN SHOULD YOU NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE?
●If you are allergic to any of its ingredients.
●If you have hypercalcemia , kidney impairment or any disease associated with hypercalcemia.

WHAT TO DO IF ANYONE TAKES MORE MEDICINE THAN THEY SHOULD:
If you (or someone else) accidentally take too many Soft gels/Tablets, you should tell your doctor at once or contact the nearest accident and emergency department. Show any left over medicines or the empty packet to the doctor.

IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE MEDICINE
Do not worry. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as possible, unless it is almost time to take the next dose (within 1-2 hours). Do not take a double dose. Then go on as before.

Instructions:
Store at or below 30oC in a cool, dry place.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date shown on the carton. Keep out of sight and reach of children.
